Re: reminding people about security and accessibility issues, I want a word for that role. Those of us with particular axes to grind tend to take it up a lot. I used to joke at my old job that they didn't need *me* in planning meetings; they needed a cardboard cut-out of me with a sign that said, "Remember sustainability?" At my current job it's, "Remember citation?"*

Let's coin a term for Official Reminder About [Thing That's Critical to You But No One Else Ever Thinks of]!

*Not because they have sustainability in the bag, to be clear, but because I'm already doing 3 jobs and don't have the mental capacity to add Sustainability Harridan. :P

Gnomic Utterances. These are traditional, and are set at the head of each section of the Guidebook. The reason for them is lost in the mists of History. They are culled by the Management from a mighty collection of wise sayings probably compiled by a SAGE—probably called Ka’a Orto’o—some centuries before the Tour begins. The Rule is that no Utterance has anything whatsoever to do with the section it precedes. Nor, of course, has it anything to do with Gnomes.
