That's a good point, about the difference between books you loved as a child and books you love is an adult and, well, ought to know better.

And yeah, absolutely grief. Sometimes I want to be able to pick up a book, go to a movie, watch a television show, and not have that part of my brain turned on. I mourn the uncritical reader/viewer I can't be any more. I'm glad that I'm not that person, but I still mourn her.
